Jim Murray Appraisal Service leads the pack when it comes to technology
Here at Jim Murray Appraisal Service, we always try to be on the forefront of appraisal technology. We use the latest technology available today to bring you high quality, accurate appraisals.
While appraisal fees haven't necessarily gone up over the years, the demands placed on individual appraisers have. Cutting corners on analysis isn't an option for an ethical appraiser. Therefore, the logical place to save time is in our daily workflow. We strive to be the very best, and we've found that keeping up with new technology allows us to bring you more credible reports, quicker turnaround times and of course, the very best in customer service.
Ordering and Tracking
Years ago, a lot of our orders were ordered via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we arrived at the office. It might be hours before a client even knew if we could do the order. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we receive an e-mail on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
Jim Murray Appraisal Service understands that real estate is all about timeliness. We don't make you wait around for replies because we understand the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. Through features on this website, we can actually speed up the entire appraisal process.
Using Technology in the Field
Gathering the data for an appraisal is a demanding process. We spend a lot of our time gathering both specific information about the subject property and general data about the local market and developing trends. Jim Murray Appraisal Service takes advantage of technology to close the gap once again.
Instead of using paper forms and pencils and then re-keying all the information back at the office, don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an app created for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on site. Rather than using that clumsy outdated tape measure, a larger percentage appraisers are utilizing accurate laser measuring devices that also help measure hard to access areas.
We combine all of these different technologies to ensure that the final report is complete and without error, requiring fewer call-backs and revisions. A real money saver for busy appraisal clients.
Appraisal Report Delivery
At a very minimum, you can expect us to deliver your final report electronically as a PDF. Most of our clients prefer e-mail because we're all accustomed to getting attachments like PDFs in our mail. It's a lot better than the old days when everything was on paper. But, we've even been able to innovate how you receive your report with this website.
Everyone knows how frustrating it is to lose a file. Or have you ever had problems sending or receiving an e-mail because it was too big? We've come up with a solution for those problems, too. Whenever we send an appraisal, the client gets a link sent to their email to retrieve the PDF. So, at that point, it doesn't matter if all the extra photos and maps in the report result in a large file that would normally be blocked by e-mail. And the best thing is that the file will be hosted on this site for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again without even calling us or waiting for us to get to a computer so we can send it again.
Jim Murray Appraisal Service enhances its appraisal records by using Digital Workfiles
It would be great if appraisers could complete an assignment, deliver it and never worry about seeing that document again. But one of the purposes of an appraisal is as a legal document outlining the condition of a property on a specific date. Therefore, appraisers are required by law to keep their reports for 5 years in case any disputes or other matters arise regarding the property.
To sum it all up, Jim Murray Appraisal Service leverages our experience with technology to improve service. By storing every aspect of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we can pull up the entire file whenever it's needed and recall just what that assignment was about.
We just wanted to give you a little bit of insight into how we use our technology daily. Investing in the right tools, along with the appraisal know-how that you've grown to expect allows the appraiser to collect the appraisal data to finish the report faster and more accurately than previously possible.
